ABOUT
THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF OFF GRIT
HOI MUN
I wake up every day looking forward to what art I'll be making on that day. I love exploring the entire spectrum of visual solutions. Designing and Illustrating are both two respectively different disciplines despite the similar foundations they both share. I went to school graduating in Digital Animation but fell in love with Illustrations and Graphic design so upon graduation in 2006, I started work immediately as a Concept artist/Animator.

Concept art, which walks the fine line of Design and Illustration, has been my main discipline ever since and when I started freelancing 6 years ago, I was fortunate enough to work with some very notable clients such as RIOT GAMES, SIDESHOW COLLECTIBLES, BLUR STUDIO, BUNGIE, IllUSORIUM, and a few more. I provide character design works, environment, props, vehicles, and Illustration pieces to my clients mostly, and I love all aspects of it.

On days between projects, I work on my personal projects in Illustration and Design. For example, recently I've been working on a small art project which I guess can be considered as an IP about a group of Thunder Cloud Characters called KUMORIMONS, and on the side also, an upcoming art book with my friend here, KAEL NGU.

May our personal projects come to fruition here in this space between spaces, Off Grit.
Our playground and home.
KAEL NGU
I am a freelance illustrator hailing from Malaysia, striving to create art that connects with audiences worldwide. I have a strong passion for manga and comics since childhood; the worlds inside the books I read inspire me to create my own.

I have contributed cover illustrations to various comic publishers - Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Image Comics, BOOM! Studios, and IDW Publishing are some of the industry giants that I have the chance to collaborated with throughout my career. I am fortunate to draw some of the world's most famous superheroes for a living, and I can't ask for more!

Aside from drawing covers, I'm also learning to tell stories through drawing comics, sharing with the world what I felt and experienced. I hope to remain forever passionate about what I do, for without passion and goals, life is very dull.
These days, I strive to find more time for personal work, leading to the birth of Off Grit—a vast new world for me and my good friend, maestro Hoi Mun, to explore and where we can let our inner child go wild.

Welcome to Off Grit.
